In January of 1814 Jane began her work on Emma, a novel about a girl that she never wanted anyone but herself to like.
To be honest, when looked at Emma from my modern perspective, I think she was a sweet, yet spoiled young girl who had yet to learn at times to use a filter when speaking to people.
When looked through the eyes of Emma, who could have very easily BEEN a young and naive Jane herself, it makes sense.
Emma only wanted everyone to have love and to be able to tolerate those around her, yet had little patience.
Emma wouldn't be finished until early 1815 and in December of that same year it would be published.

In January of 1816, Jane's brother Henry would buy back Susan and re-name it Catherine, and a second publication of Mansfield Park is issued.
In 1817 Jane begins work on The Brothers which will be published under Sandition, she would never finish the novel for she will pass from this world later that year.
