The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

About a month ago, I put up the first video for The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice using a modern outlet and source-Youtube!!

So, far the 76 videos take us on a journey of Lizzie in the form of a video blog where we see things from the perspective of Lizzie herself, a graduate student with college debts and no job, living at home with parents about to loose the house.

Lizzie is a young grad school student studying mass communications and is 24 years old.  She is funny, spontaneous at times and loves to do re-enactments for some reason that have everyone laughing so hard they are near tears.

Her mother is obsessed with the girls (3 instead of 5) getting either rich  husbands or good careers.  Watching Lizzy over dramatize her mother sometimes is hysterical and fun to watch.

The vlogs themselves follow Pride & Prejudice in a new way that is refreshing and fun! I caught up with all the videos in a night and a day before going to watch the movies for my birthday today.  I think I spent more time laughing my butt off than I did anything else.

The only way I can describe this is to watch the videos yourself and the other places on the web you can find The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.  I think you will enjoy it!!

I will be putting up the links for the site on the side, there is a video play list just for the Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

I am so glad that people are finding better ways to use internet social media to improve the world around us and to do so in a positive way rather than trying hard to make us more down in the world!!

Kudos to Hank Green, Bernie Su, Jenni Powell, Margaret Dunlap, Rachel Kiley (the writer), and Jay Bushman for putting together such a lively and fresh show and giving Jane Austen Fans something new and fun to add to our beloved world of Pride & Prejudice!!
